The King Hamad American Mission Hospital (KHAMH) was opened on 26 January 2023, in A'Ali. It has become the fifth and the largest of the branches of the American Mission Hospital, after Manama, Saar, Riffa and Amwaj.
Patients are now being seen at the new hospital in A'Ali, from 15 March 2023.
The outpatient services and medical inpatient services have now been opened. Surgical services and Dialysis services have also started.
The new hospital - with a total built-up area of 72,615 sqm, and a landscaped garden area of 14,615 sqm - has 125 inpatient beds, 20 dialysis bays, 8 ICU beds, 18 NICU (Level 1 and 2) beds, 65 out patient suites, 25 ER beds, 6 labour, delivery and recovery beds and 5 Operating Rooms (one hybrid and one with advanced imaging).
The eco-friendly, solar-run project includes a 270 seat auditorium, an underground parking for 500 cars, and a 129,000-square-foot staff accommodation building.
Different services will become operational, in a phased manner, during the second quarter of 2023.
